| Abstrakt: |
The article suggests that a complete defense of deceptive placebo use must address the ethical objection that the practice violates patient autonomy. It alleges that the objection is not always recognized and notes how well several bioethicists who write about placebo use have responded to the objection. The article also concludes that defenders of placebo use should argue that deceptive placebo use is compatible with informed consent. |
