The article explores the first-job experiences of several individuals. It took three years for Tyler Fleet, a sword swallower in the Coney Island Circus Sideshow, before he was comfortable swallowing a sword. Firefighter Rodney Vaughan recalls his first rescue of a 27-year-old woman trapped in a school building following an earthquake. Conductor Marina Alsop finds it easy conducting an orchestra in New Jersey because she did not know all the challenges involved. |
