The article describes the case of a 56-month-old male child who was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss bilaterally. Features of his first behind-the-ear hearing aids include directional microphone programming and noise-reduction option. He initially struggled with his language development, particularly with consonants. Auditory-verbal therapy was added to his schedule. His language skills and intelligibility improved at the age of 30 months. |
