Abstrakt: The article offers an analysis of clichés and repeated line-fillers in Arthurian verse romance. A formula, which includes a semantic and metrical entity, is considered a device that facilitates versification in the field of medieval French studies. By the 1950s, orality emerged as a specific style and a way of composing. In this analysis, example of formulas will be taken from the Arthurian verse romance "Floriant et Florete."
