Abstrakt: The article examines the funding structure and trends of the United Nations development system (UNDS). The U.S., Japan, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Norway are identified as the top five government donors of UNDS. Data show that the UNDS spent about 14.7 billion U.S. dollars on development-related activities in 2009. It mentions that the largest source of development-related expenditures in the UNDS are non-core or earmarked funding.
