Calif. ruling on eating disorder treatment backs parity law over insurer.

Abstrakt: The article discusses a court case wherein the plaintiff's, Jeanene Harlick, residential treatment facility was not paid by the insurer. In the court case, Harlick v. Blue Shield, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, ruled out that an insurer will pay for a residential treatment facility for a patient with anorexia even if its not covered in the health plan. The American Psychiatric Association (APA) commented that the decision will influence other state plans.
