Presents information on a study which indicated that methylglyoxal is a chemical modifier of proteins in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells grown in culture and possibly in other mammalian systems. Methodology used in the study; Evidence that the majority of methylglyoxal in vivo is bound to biological ligands; Interaction of methylglyoxal with reduced glutathione; Results of the study. |
