Abstrakt: An analysis of the economic legal and ecological dimensions of transfrontier pollution in European countries is conducted in this paper. It is shown that these dimensions are such that current transfrontier pollution management policies are ineffective and that proposed economic pohcies (e.g. the polluterpays-principle) would also be ineffective. Game theory is used to demonstrate that a European transfrontier pollution authority could successfully manage transfrontier pollution m Europe. The characteristics and working principles of such an authority are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
