Abstrakt: The article focuses on the psychological analysis of the novel "The Bell Jar," by Sylvia Plath. It explores the concerns of psychiatrist Aaron T. Beck on the role of novel's heroine Esther Greenwood concerning the psychological role of bell jar in which Beck states that Greenwood has been affected by two common distinct causes of depression. It says that the principle of Beck concerning vulnerability and depression has been supported by the Ian H. Gotlib and Constance L. Hammen.
