| Abstrakt: | The author discusses the importance of student placements in the recruitment of newly qualified nurses in Great Britain. It is said that more nurses are needed as a larger proportion of healthcare services will be community-based. She relates her experiences as a nursing student on community placements in which she was impressed with the enthusiasm of the staff. She asserts that reforms are needed to ensure that the next generation of nurses and students will embrace roles beyond the ward. |
