Abstrakt: The article discusses a study of the kinematic strategies used by the European honey bee Apis mellifera to address a wind gust and the effect of differential stroke amplitude and stroke offset on its body moments during perturbations. A 25-liter (L) cylindrical flight chamber was used to observe honey bee foragers. Results showed that asymmetric wing strokes were employed by the bees in response to gust-induced perturbations. Body motions were not considered in the aerodynamic model used in the study.
