The article presents a study which analyzes the validity of officer rating methodology which was conducted in 1950 by the Personnel Research Branch (PRB) of the U.S. Department of the Army. The study was conducted at Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas with estimated 400 officer students, and it employs graphic rating scales and modification of forced choice technique. Results reveal that raters with high score on variables produced more valid ratings and the more effective method for the increase in ratings validity stays to be the averaging ratings by a competent raters. |
