Structural and ultraviolet-protective properties of nano-TiO2-doped polypropylene filaments.

Abstrakt: The article examines the effects of nano-titanium dioxide particles on the ultraviolet(UV)-protective and structural properties of polypropylene textile filaments. Preparation of these nanoparticles are discussed. Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, differential scanning calorimetry and tensile tests were conducted to analyze the structural properties of the nanocomposite fibers. It concludes that the UV-protective properties of the PP filaments improves after treatment with nano-titanium dioxide.
