Application of urea/H2O2 activation-oxidation system in degradation of PVA and desizing of polyester/cotton fabric.

Abstrakt: The article deals with a study which investigated and compared the effect of Fenton's reagent and urea/H2O 2 activate oxidation systems on the degradation of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). It measured the viscosity and the ultraviolet (UV)-vis spectrum of PVA degradation aqueous solutions. It was noted that the concentration of hydrogen peroxide in both activate oxidation systems decreased the viscosity of PVA aqueous solution and increased the degradationrate of PVA.
