Abstrakt: The article discusses the problems related to human trafficking and domestic servitude in Australia with reference to the case of R v. Kovacs. The case of R v. Kovacs involves Zoltan and Melita Kovacs, a married couple who decided to bring a woman from the Philippines to Australia to have her work in their takeaway food store and as a domestic helper in their home. Other legal cases involving trafficking for domestic servitude, how marriage can be used to facilitate it, and slavery are explored.
