We investigated the electrical conductivity of alkali fullerides K[sub 3]C[sub 60], (NH[sub 3])K[sub 3]C[sub 60] and (NH[sub 3])χNaRb[sub 2]C[sub 60] by the microwave cavity perturbation method. We found that (NH[sub 3])K[sub 3]C[sub 60] showed a semiconductive behavior of resistivity between 4.2 and 250 K. We did not find any anomaly at temperatures where phase transitions were suggested to take place in other techniques. On the other hand, the resistivity of (NH[sub 3])χNaRb[sub 2]C[sub 60] is metallic both for x-0.8 and x=0.9. These results suggest that the disappearance of superconductivity in (NH[sub 3])K[sub 3]C[sub 60] is due to the distortion of the crystal structure from the cubic structure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
