The article reports on the early childhood program created for teachers of preschool age to 3rd grade (PK-3) by Louisiana State University (LSU) educators that provides them with a meaningful understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) which they can implement in their teaching practices. The internship model adopted for the program that is appropriate for the learners' age, each individual, and for a particular cultural context is described. The author discusses the various projects including the Pedagogy, Content, and Eco-map projects. |
