The article discusses the results of a study which investigated the effectiveness of bupropion hydrochloride as a smoking cessation aid for patients who smoked and suffering from acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The methods for the randomized controlled trial are described, including the comparison of the efficacy and safety of bupropion slow-release (SR) or placebo within two months of treatment. The study showed that bupropion SR is not associated with the rise in clinical events or changes in body mass index or blood pressure. |
