The article presents a discussion of the prevalence of pain and chronic pain in the U.S., the costs that are associated with pain management, and the impact that pain and chronic pain have on public health in the U.S.. The American Pain Foundation's 2011 position statement on access to pain care in the U.S. is discussed. |
