The authors remind some of the clinical applications of the anatomy of the circumflex femoral artery. They dissected 10 cadavers illustrating the lateral circumflex femoral artery and its branches that support three of the muscular flaps rose at the level of the thigh: rectus femoris, vastus lateralis and tensor fasciae lata. The authors conclude that although the ramification of the lateral circumflex femoral artery is variable, its branches constantly nourish the previous mentioned flaps. These flaps are commonly used to cover tissue defects at the level of the abdominal wall, hip and pelvis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
