Scoliosis is a postural deformity manifested by a lateral curvature of the spine. Among the many types of scoliosis, adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is the most common that presents long-term physical and psychological adverse impact. The patient underwent a series of physical therapy from age 13 until her college freshman years, then later decided to undergo surgery to alleviate her chronic back pain. |
