The article presents a literature review of the use of videophone in mental health, called telemental health, a telehealth alternative that can provide adjunct health care services, including psychotherapy, psychological testing, medication management and forensic evaluations. It provides insight into how videophones can provide preventive and supportive services to special populations like patients who are terminally ill or in highly rural settings. The article also states that videophones can assist physicians in providing patient-centric care. |
