Abstrakt: A reference entry is presented for Edward Francis Rimbault, a 19th-century writer and composer from London, England. He studied music under his father, Stephen Francis Rimbault, and became organist of several churches in Soho, London. He lectured on English musical history at the Royal Institution and became one of the founders of the Percy and Musical Antiquarian Societies. His works included the books "Who was jack Wilson, the Singer of Shakespeare's Stage?" the "Bibliotheca Madrigaliana" and the first book on the study of the piano.
