This section offers world news briefs related to science. The European Spallation Source project is currently in a Design Review Upgrade phase until the end of 2012. The two neutron scattering facilities at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory are continuously increasing their operating reliability. A research team led by E. Shabalin at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna has designed and fabricated a pelletized cold moderator based on solid mesitylene. |
