The article presents a study on the combined efficacy of the Spodoptera litura nuclear polyhedral virus (SINPV) and Colocasia esculenta in reducing Spodoptera litura in tobacco fields. The researchers conducted the study at the Nanxiong Research Institute of Tobacco experimental farm at Nanxiong in Guangdong Province, China. They also observed the life cycle of S. litura that was divided into six stages including the 4th-5th instar larvae, 2nd-3rd instar larvae and 1st instar larvae. They found that the suppression of the 2nd generation S. litura depended mainly on the methamidophos in chemical control, on the natural factors in natural control and on the SINPV and natural enemies in trap crop. |
