The article describes the case of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) that adopted the convergence of smart-phone and open-source Web technologies to streamline its regularly scheduled series (RSS). The project aims to streamline the RSS work-flow process to eliminate the six-month backlog of attendance records and minimize labor costs. The article concludes that the model should be considered as an adjunct to CME offices with a large RSS program. |
