Chapter six of the book "Essentials of River Kayaking" is presented. It states that capsizing is part kayaking and knowing the basics of rescue and safety is crucial for survival. It discusses self-rescue, how to empty a capsized boat, and reentering the kayak in deep water. It offers several techniques when rescuing other people which include bulldozer rescue, rescue sling, minimizing heat loss in cold water. A questionnaire on the topics covered in the chapter is also presented. |
