The article informs that Chirpriya Dhabuwala, chief of urology at the Harper University Hospital, employs two rifampin-gentamicin solutions during penile prosthesis procedures and covers the entire skin surface with antimicrobial drapes to prevent the implant from skin contact. It has been stated that various studies have shown that application of rifampin-gentamicin solutions reduce risk of infections by Staphylococcus epidermidis and Escherichia coli acquired during the implant procedure. |
