Abstrakt: The article investigates the development of a commercial process for bleaching cotton/wool blends, with emphasis on those with tetra-acetyl-ethylenediamine (TAED) activated peroxide system. Cotton/wool blended products were known for their comfort and aesthetic properties. A peroxide stabilizer, hydrogen peroxide and TAED are included in the primary bleaching formulation. A composite blend was bleached in parallel with the corresponding intimate blend to examine the bleaching effectiveness on the individual fiber components in the blend. Findings revealed that Stabicol BAC was the most effective stabilizer for the blend since it exhibited a more pronounced action on the wool component and better effectiveness on the cotton component.
