Abstrakt: An essay is presented on the importance of second-generation British Asian youth in the novels of Meera Syal and analyzes the factors that contribute to their identity construction. It discusses the less cultural marginalization portrayed by the youth in Syal's novels "Life Isn't All Ha Ha Hee Hee" and and "Anita and Me." The author mentions the significance how origin culture and host culture contribute to migran children's identity construction.
