Abstrakt: This paper examines the impact of communication effectiveness on trust climate, relative to the impact of a number of attitudinal variables, including job satisfaction and perceived participation. The data was drawn from an employee survey conducted in two consecutive years (2005 & 2006) in a medium-size food processing organization operating in Australia. Regression analysis revealed that Trust Climate was significantly affected by perceptions of communication effectiveness. This finding was consistent across the two survey years. Further scrutiny of this impact revealed that aspects of communication that most significantly affected Trust Climate was the extent to which supervisors, mid-level managers and senior managers were perceived to communicate well with employees. Surprisingly, the impact of job satisfaction and participation on Trust Climate were not as significant. Implications for management practice and future research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
