The article looks at the approaches to the study of female economic crime in the U.S. It mentions the increasing focus of explanations of female participation in economic crime on the significance of economic contributions to criminal behavior. The reassessment of economic factors is partly attributed to the emerging profiles of the female offender. Among the approaches utilized to examine the correlates of female involvement in economic crime are the factors described by the offender as the causes of her behavior and the personal attributes of the offender and her circumstances. Research shows that employment, housing and child support are integral to their post-release community adjustment. |
