The article focuses on a research study which investigated the role of the p14ARF tumor suppressor protein on the responses of cells to heat shock and oxidative stress. When p14ARF was suppressed, an increase resistance to cell death resulted after the cells were treated with hydrogen peroxide or subjected to heat shock. The study found that increased levels and activity of Β-catenin mediated protection from cell death. |
