The article focuses on the anatomical part of inguinal region called falx inguinalis or conjoint tendon which was used to be vital in inguinal hernia surgery. It says that the use of prosthetic mesh in hernia repair has led to the increasing disengagement of falx inguinalis to the surgery. It says that falx inguinalis has a whitish form and appears to be a superior-medial extension of the inguinal ligament. It tells that the conjoint tendon can also be used to narrow internal inguinal ring. |
