The article deals with the development of an environmental monitoring program (EMP) in the pharmceutical industry. EMP refers to a procedure for examining air and surfaces for viable or non-viable particles, and other environmental elements that can impact pharmaceuticals. EMP covers environmental control, disinfection and sanitatization practices, and personnel gowning and hygienic practices. According to the author, environmental monitoring is an important responsibility which supports manufacturing operations. |
