Abstrakt: The article focuses on the misconception of Ecuador regarding the benefits that new petroleum pipeline of Texaco Inc. will offer after its operations begin. It states that since the commencement of work on the pipeline, the country increased its spending and its foreign reserves decreased to 13 million dollars in June 1969. McNeill Watkins, an executive at Texaco stresses that even though the pipeline will be beneficial for Ecuador, it will not contribute to the overall standing of the country.
