Abstrakt: | The article reports on the Detroit Committee formed by Detroit's Mayor Jerome Cavanagh. It states the committee was formed after the July 1966 riots in Detroit to avoid future riots in the city caused by racial differences in employment. It states the aim of the committee is to provide job opportunities to the African American youth living in Detroit. It reports that General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. employed many unskilled laborers, mostly African American post the committee's formation. |
