| Abstrakt: | The article explores the mineral potential of Chad which was highlighted by the decision of Libyan dictator Muammer Qadaffi to deploy Libyan forces in Chad. The majority of Africans believe that Qadaffi's move is the initial step in his attempt to establish an Islamic Saharan Republic. It is noted that the Aozou strip that was seized by Qadaffi from Chad possesses manganese for expansion of Libya's newly established steel industry. |
