Abstrakt: The article describes discusses a study on the glucose-induced production of recombinant proteins in Hansenula polymorpha (H. polymorpha) mutants deficient in glucose repression. H. polymorpha is a methyltropic yeast which depends on the regulated promoter for gene encoding peroxisomal enzyme alcohol oxidase (PMOX). The study isolated the H. polymorpha mutants deficient in glucose repression of PMOX because of an impaired HpGCR1 gene. The resulting mutants showed marked defects in PMOX regulation in the hexoses and xylose.
