Abstrakt: Reassoclatlon activity between the small and large subunits of ribosomes is considerably increased by the addition of tRNA or by thermal treatment. tRNA has an effect on the closed form of small subunits; tRNA works as a fastener to bind the small and large subunits during the reassoclation process without conformational change. On the other hand, thermal treatment is accompanied by conformatlonal change of the small subunits, namely, into the open form. Consequently, it is suggested that the process of reassociatlon by the addition of tRNA is a more native interaction when considering the association process ; the closed form should be active and the open form should be active .
