Abstrakt: The article evaluates the efficacy and safety of the α-blocker tamsulosin hydrochloride versus placebo for the management of patients with ureteral colic owing to distal ureteral stones. Results of the multicentric, randomized, double-blind trial showed higher mean stone diameters in the placebo than the tamsulosin group. The researchers observed no difference in expulsion delay distributions, and 43 patients in the placebo group and 61 in the tamsulosin group expelled their stones within 42 days.
