Abstrakt: Three metres airborne and 23 m spaceborne scanner data were analysed to investigate the effects of crop management practices on the image data and the derived variograms. The paper shows that crop management practices can affect image data, if those data are at a suitable resolution. When this condition is met, crop management practices create strong square to sinusoidally shaped oscillations in the derived variograms. The paper then describes two approaches to Fourier filtering of the image data to remove the effects of crop management practices, and shows that their results are similar, but that one method is easier and faster to implement than the other method.
