Abstrakt: The article clarifies issues pertaining to the relationship between psychology and law. Defining the purpose of psychology depends on setting out what is common or distinctive among activities that fall under the rubric of psychology and not on determining what psychology is. Psychology also gathers approaches to the study of individual and social functioning like neuropsychology and personality and cognitive psychology. Law, on the other hand, is presented as a series of rules set out in statute or common law and interprets how such rules should be understood. Construction of knowledge in law and psychology is also explored.
