The article discusses the peaceful settlement efforts of the Congress of Industrial Organizations's (CIO) Textile Workers Union of America (TWUA) to end truce with employers in the cotton textile industry in the U.S. It notes the fifth-round wage drive of the TWUA and its organizing efforts to boost wages. It cites the efforts of CIO chief Emil Rieve and executives Charles F. H. Johnson and George Baldanzi to co-sponsor the Botany Joint Training School to improve labor relations. |
