Abstrakt: | The article discusses the plan of U.S. Justice Department attorneys to appeal to the Supreme Court against a decision absolving film companies of antitrust charges in the distribution of pre-1948 movies for television. The decision by Judge William B. Herlands has established new criteria for what constitutes an asset. Some lawyers say that the ruling broadens the application of Section 7 of the Clayton Act, which prohibits asset acquisition that tends to lessen competition. |
