Abstrakt: Preliminary findings are presented for 50 coalmine dusts tested by the ‘quantitative lymph node test’ in which morphometric measurements are made of the sizes of dust agglomerations and of quartz-typical areas in sections of rat lymph nodes following intraperitoneal injection of 50 mg dust. A discriminant function providing a measure of the response showed a highly significant correlation with the mineral content and the quartz content of the dust. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
