The authors reflect on the development of the journal "Molecular Ecology" which was founded by professor Harry Smith in 1991. The authors mention that the journal was re-organized in 1995 being Terry Burke as chief editor and Smith as managing director. They say that there are notable changes under the leadership of Burke including the establishment of a Molecular Ecology Prize in 2006. Moreover, the number of papers using molecular methods for ecological question increased between 2008-2010. |
