Abstrakt: Treatment with tannic acid and OsO (TA treatment) of tissue culture cells after fixation with glutaraldehyde and OsO resulted in good protection of the cell features against shrinkage and thermal damage caused by subsequent procedures used for specimen preparation. A difference in the degree of shrinkage between TA-treated cells and untreated cells was found, the mean diameter of the TA-treated cells being 1.4 times as large as that of untreated cells.
