Pretreatment of mice with high multiple doses of virazole did not reduce serum hemagglutination inhibition antibody titer or lung interferon titer induced by influenza virus nor did such treatment increase the susceptibility of mice to serial dilutions of the virus. Pretreatment with drug slightly reduced the hemagglutinin titer attained in lungs of influenza infected mice but lung consolidation in these animals appeared essentially the same as in those receiving placebo treatment.
