Abstrakt: The article presents a comparative study of the clastogenicity of functionalized and nonfunctionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) in bone marrow cells of Swiss-Webster mice. The results have distinctly shown a significant increase of cytogenetic damage in the bone marrow cells caused by exposure to MWCNTs using intraperitoneal administration. Moreover, percentages of deviant cells in the bone marrow of a Swiss-webster mice being exposed to MWCNTindicated significant increases as compared to the controls and suggest on careful monitoring with respect to synthesizing biocompatible carbon nanomaterials.
